Microbial-Vac Systems Inc. has received approval to use its wet-vacuum sampling system in US Department of Agriculture-inspected facilities. This sampling device seeks to improve the safety of food by collecting a better sample for pathogenic detection, according to the company. It can be used to collect samples on surfaces used to process meat in meat packing and other food processing facilities, as well as in labs.
